Spotify Unwrapped…

It’s that time of year! Spotify Unwrapped…

I’m generally a bit suspicious of Spotify (pay your artists fairly, dammit!) and, full disclosure, I never get amazing stats. I’m not great at the online presence and pitching to playlists, etc (or maybe it’s the music! ) and I always take it to heart more than I’d like to.

Anyway, this year I would prefer to share some other musical wins from 2021 rather than my Spotify stats!

2021 Unwrapped a little differently!

-I managed to write, record and co-produce a whole album that I really love!

-I learned much more about music technology and production, and taught myself a lot of it.

-I became braver at conveying my thoughts, both lyrically and in directing how I wanted it all to sound.

-I finally got round to sorting out a little merch line!

-With the help of amazingly talented friends, I put on an album launch that was my favourite gig ever.

-I’ve booked a lot more band gigs this year, including with a new 7-piece super-band line up!

-In spite of the pandemic and all it’s brought with it, I feel the most confident that I ever have in calling myself a musician.

-I have worked with some amazing people in the industry and gained some lovely new listeners and friends. I’m grateful to the bloody lot of you!!
