Chickenstock Festival 2021

Hi friends, it’s been a busy few weeks!

The summer has officially begun, and the most exciting update is that the band and myself finally played a live gig after a year and a half of pandemic-pause! Last weekend, we travelled down the road to Kent to play the gorgeous Chickenstock festival.

I’d played a solo set on the small stage at the festival in 2019, and got invited back by lovely Moya, who invited the band along as well. 2020’s festival was postponed, but it was well worth the wait. It’s the furthest I’ve travelled since the pandemic began, so everything felt a little surreal, but the festival organisers did a brilliant job of making everyone feel safe and welcome.

Thunder, lightning and yellow weather warnings had been forecast, but the weather gods ignored that and it was lovely almost the whole weekend, apart from a 6am Sundays storm. We spent Saturday listening to other bands and trying out the various local ales, and then played a 45minute set on the Sunday afternoon which went down well. Luckily we remembered all of the songs!

Looking forward to more gigs, festivals and sunshine going forwards. Meanwhile, I’ve posted some photos from Chickenstock below for some summer vibes (and a bonus picture of me in the sea with a rainbow in Warkworth, I took a trip with my friend later in the week!).

Big love,

Jenny. xx
